Every user who wants to access the Server services of Microsoft Windows Server 2022 in the Standard- or Datacenter-edition with any Windows-enabled device needs a separate client access license for users (User CAL), which is not included in the Server-license. Only this equips a single User with the appropriate access rights for the Server. It does not matter whether the authorized User CAL uses a Desktop PC, notebook, smartphone or tablet with Windows operating system. The purchaser of a User CAL is free to decide which Windows-enabled end device he wants to use to access the Windows Server 2022.
